Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon's scale. We're building revolutionary robotic systems that combine AI, sophisticated control systems, and advanced mechanical design to create adaptable automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. Key job responsibilities
Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Gear Design Engineer to own the design, analysis, and design-for-manufacturing of high-performance while cost-efficient gear systems for our robotic platforms at substantial scale. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise spanning diverse gear types for advanced robotics with a demonstrated ability to manage gear vendors (internal and external) and contract design partners.. This candidate must combine strong analytical skills with hands-on experience bringing precision gear systems from concept through volume manufacturing, and thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Basic Qualifications

- Master's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
- Experience working with the designs of complex automated material, handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience working with vendors or partners
- Experience interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings
- Experience with design software (KISSsoft, MASTA, ROMAX, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
- Experience working with the designs of complex automated material, handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing
- Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures
